Women of every culture, age, income level, and race can develop perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. Symptoms can appear any time during pregnancy and the first 12 months after childbirth. There are effective and well-researched treatment options to help you recover.
So many individuals and families suffer in silence or assume “this is just the blues,” “other people have it worse,” and “I’m just sleep deprived/ not eating enough.”
You don’t need to be formally diagnosed with a perinatal mood disorder to get help- all parents deserve support!
